At this time, Resilience PLLC does not participate in-network with any insurance companies. If you are wanting to utilize your insurance benefits your current insurance plan may offer partial reimbursement for an out-of-network provider. Contact your insurance provider to receive more information about your out-of-network benefits.
Why Resilience Does Not Participate In-Network with Insurance Companies
I’ve chosen not to accept insurance for several reasons, the most important being your safety and confidentiality.
Insurance companies operate under a medical model and require a diagnosis, even when one may not exist. Many people seek counseling services for things like difficult life transitions, existential issues, and conflicts in relationships. The vast majority of insurance companies would require a diagnosis to reimburse for services despite these issues not necessarily being diagnosable.
On the other hand, I do treat many diagnosable mental health issues, including substance abuse disorders, depression, and anxiety. Once you are given a diagnosis, however, this information becomes a permanent piece of your medical record. This may present problems down the road in situations such as seeking certain kinds of employment and obtaining life insurance.
When insurance companies pay for your treatment, their employees will have uninhibited access to your treatment plans and session notes. I believe information shared in sessions should be kept discreet and confidential. Additionally, insurance companies dictate the number of sessions you may receive. I prefer to collaborate with my clients to find a pace that’s best for you based on your treatment goals.
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel with me at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session. Sessions are considered a no-show after 15 minutes without notification.
